Apple this week offers new test builds of iOS and Apple TV OS to developers

Developers looking to test out iOS 7.1, either for Apple or against their own applications, can now download a fresh beta featuring new cosmetic tweaks and bug fixes. New Xcode and Apple TV Software betas are also available.

Apple this week released new software betas to developers, including iOS 7.1 Beta 3 (Build 11D5127c), Xcode 5.1 Beta 3 (build 5B71o), and Apple TV Software Beta 3.

iOS 7.1 Beta 3

According to people who are already familiar with iOS 7.1 Build 11D5127c are reporting several aesthetic changes, including tweaked icons for several apps and services, the ability to disable Wallpaper Parallax, a new dialer and answer interface for the Phone app, new Repeat and Shuffle buttons in the Music app, a new Power Off screen, and minor tweaks in the iTunes Radio UI.

iOS 7.1 can be installed on Pad Air, iPad 2, iPad 3 ,iPad 4, iPad mini, iPad Mini Retina, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, and the 5th generation iPod touch.

Xcode 5.1 Beta 3

“This is a pre-release version of the complete Xcode developer toolset for Mac, iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad,” Apple tells developers.

As usual, the Cupertino company asks testers to review the release notes before installing, adding that the beta requires OS X Mountain Lion or later to run.

Apple Xcode betas are primarily aimed at testing application compatibility with adjacent iOS and OS X betas, in this case iOS 7.1 Build 11D5127c.

Apple TV Software Beta 3

The seed note accompanying the beta states that, “This is a pre-release version of Apple TV Software to be used for testing AirPlay with your iOS apps.” Straightforward, as always.

Those looking to download the new betas must visit the Apple Dev Center with their developer credentials in hand.
