Nigel Barber is convinced religion has no place in the modern world

Biopsychologist Nigel Barber has recently finished work on a new book stating that religion won't be around for much longer.

More precisely, this researcher says that, all things considered, religion will probably “go extinct” by 2041 at the latest.

Nigel Barber expects that, as personal wealth increases both in developed and in developing countries, a large number of people will become atheists.

So, basically, the better human society is doing financially-wise, the more likely it is to bid religion its eternal farewell.

“The reason that churches lose ground in developed countries can be summarized in market terms. With better science and with government safety nets, and smaller families there is less fear and uncertainty in people's daily lives and hence less of a market for religion,” Nigel Barber explains, as cited by Digital Journal.

“Atheists are more likely to be college-educated people who live in cities and they are highly concentrated in the social democracies of Europe. Atheism thus blossoms amid influence where people feel economically secure,” he goes on to say.

Well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see if his predictions come true.
