The notorious hacktivist group known as RedHack wants to make sure that the upcoming elections in Turkey will be fair. That is why they’ve appointed the Computer Supported Central Voter Registry System (SEÇSİS) as their next target.

In an interview with Hürriyet Daily News, the hackers explained that they don’t plan on changing election results. Instead, they want to support IT, electronic infrastructure, and digital platforms experts during the election process.

“In the name of having a fair election and supervising this freak system called SEÇSİS, we have announced and will continue to announce who must be given the shoulder through social media, by giving support to IT experts and civil initiatives,” one RedHack representative said.

The Turkish government is confident that the SEÇSİS project not only reduces the costs of the election process, but it also prevents fraud. However, as with any digital systems, it might be possible for hackers to interfere.

That is why RedHack has decided to take some steps that will ensure a fair election.
