A waitress at Red Lobster has received the tip of a lifetime – $10,000 (€7,400) raised for her – after a customer insulted her instead of leaving a tip.

According to ABC News, Toni Christina Jenkins of Franklin, Tennessee, posted a receipt she received on Facebook. A patron had put “none” on the “Tip” line and wrote the N-word in the “Total” section.

“We are disgusted by the language used on this guest check and it has no place in our restaurant or anywhere else,” a Red Lobster official has stated.

Matthew Hanson, of AddictingInfo.org, saw the post and started a fundraiser for the server. He called it “Tips for Toni” and several people chipped in to gather $10,749 (€7,900) for Jenkins.

She was given the money on September 30 and she was completely amazed. She described posting the receipt as social commentary alone.
