It's not official yet, but it does look like the legendary rockers will be appearing on stage during the half time of the Super Bowl. The huge sporting event of Super Bowl XLVIII that will be taking place on February 2 in New Jersey is already looking to be a great show.

The news comes from the Los Angeles Times who said they got the info from an insider, but so far, it hasn't been confirmed. The band is supposed to make an announcement and make it official during a game between the New Orleans Saints and the Seattle Seahawks today, on January 11.

The interesting thing will be to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers doing a performance with Bruno Mars. The rockers and the pop star make for a weird combination, but then again, the Super Bowl is famed for bringing in artists from all sides of the music specter together.

Super Bowl Week will also see performances by other big artists in the industry as well. The Foo Fighters, The Black Keys, Drake and The Roots all have concerts lined up during that week.

It was rumored that Kanye or Eminem would be playing for an owner's party, but the fees they demanded were so high that the organizers decided to go with Janelle Monae, who settled for a smaller paycheck.
