Comes in August

Red Dead Redemption was the best sold video game in both May and June, according to the figures offered for the North American market by the NPD Group. And it seems that the developers at Rockstar and the publishers at Take Two are very keen to extend the live of their Western based open world game by both unleashing new downloadable content, aimed mostly at multiplayer focused gamers, and by making the online modes fairer by eliminating both cheaters and those who take pleasure in the misery of other gamers.

Rockstar is saying that all those who are caught cheating will be banned by the developers for as long as they believe is necessary given the nature of the cheat used. The creators of Red Dead Redemption are also preparing an new option that will allow those who are killed repeatedly in the Free Roam mode to actually teleport to another area of the game world in order to start over without being a target. Those who kill other players indiscriminately are in for a surprise as after a six player kill stream during the Free Roam mode they will get a Most Wanted title and a group of NPC characters will hunt them down.

An official post on the Rockstar boards says that players should “expect that we'll continue to monitor the lay of the land and fight the good fight via future title updates to make sure everyone's multiplayer experience is as fair and as fun as can be”.

Rockstar is saying that the new update for Red Dead Redemption should arrive at some point in August with a slew of other improvements and bug fixes. Separate downloadable content for the Western themed game will include more content for the multiplayer modes and the inclusion of zombies in a Horde like mode.
