A fisherman has landed a gigantic, 7-foot (2.1-m) long, 102-pound (46-kg) barracuda in Angola, on the Cuanza River while aiming to catch a tarpon.

Cam Nicolson tells GrindTV that it is by far the biggest one he has ever seen in his life. His record so far has been a 65 pounder (30 kg), while the average one that can be found in the Cuanza is 10-20 pounds (4.5-9 kg) big.

The current world record for a Guinean barracuda has been awarded to an angler that caught a 101 pound, 3 ounce (46 kg) fish in Gabon. The International Game Fish Association is set to decide if Nicolson gets the record title with his catch.

“It came to the boat fairly easily (too easily for a tarpon!) and once I got hold of the leader and pulled it up to the surface, we saw it was a HUGE barracuda,” he recalls, mentioning that it has only taken 10 minutes to reel in the fish.
