After outing the Realtek LAN Driver 7.080 version a few days ago, the producer has just made available a new Ethernet driver developed for its network controllers, namely version 8.026, which is compatible with both 32- and 64-bit architectures of Microsoft’s Windows 8 and 8.1 operating systems.

In order to be clear, this release is to be installed on system configurations containing one of the Realtek PCIe Fast or Gigabit Ethernet family controllers or the producer’s PCI Gigabit Ethernet network devices.

As for installing this release, unlike the 7.080 version, the producer only made available a single download record, namely an installation package (5.8 MB), and the steps for applying it are very easy.

Simply ensure your system runs a compatible operating system and is using a suitable network controller, get and expand the downloadable archive, and run the setup from within the newly created folder.

Now click “Next” and then “Install,” and wait for the installation to complete. In addition to that, make sure you reboot your computer after the new version has been applied so that the changes can take effect.

That being said, download Realtek LAN Driver 8.026, apply the package, and “stay updated one minute ago.” Moreover, check with our website constantly in order to stay up to date with the latest releases.
