Activision has revealed as early as this morning that, The Sex Pistols have recently returned to the studio (after previously turning down the offer) to re-record "Anarchy in the U.K.," set to be featured the latest installment of the Guitar Hero franchise, GH III: Legends of Rock. The song will be included as a master track. Wait till you see how proud everyone is of what they've accomplished.

The official report revealing the new Sex Pistols master track to be featured in the game also confirms that fans can now perform their own live version of the punk anthem. Here's how the recording went down:

- original members John Lydon (vocals), Steve Jones (guitaris) and Paul Cook (drummer) gather around an analog sound desk; - producer Chris Thomas joins the team at the desk dating from around 1969 (built for George Martin at Air Studios, London, England), which they used in order to maintain the classic sound; - song gets recorded - everyone's happy!

John Lydon (vocals) stated that "Re-recording them [the songs]-what a stress you put on us but we rose to the occasion I think...admirably!" Adding that, "a bit of anarchy in a video game is alright by me."

Steve Jones confidently mentioned that "It was great for Guitar Hero to, in a way, get us back in the studio. I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out but it actually turned out great and I think everyone held their own. I like it [Guitar Hero] because my friends' kids like it. And I like what kids like."

RedOctane, the game's publishers, could never be prouder of what they've achieved too: "We are proud to have joined forces with such a legendary and influential band as The Sex Pistols for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock," said Kai Huang. "We are very excited to partner with them on their 30th Anniversary and expose them to an entirely new generation of fans through the game."

So as you can see, everyone is satisfied with their work, something that should be translated into the gameplay experience with ease.

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock is published by RedOctane, developed by Neversoft Entertainment, being rated T for Teen by the ESRB. The game launches October 28th, 2007.
