It looks like it took less than expected for Razer to get its answer that yes, people really do want a version of the Naga mouse for the left-handed.

Last week we reported on Razer's campaign to see if there were enough people interested in a left-handed version of the Naga MMO mouse.

The company basically posted an inquiry on its Facebook page and promised to make the product if at least 10,000 people “liked” it.

It turns out that there was more than enough interest in the matter, and the “likes” reached that number by the next day (about a week after the first posting).

As such, Razer went ahead and officially announced that the project was underway.

"That Facebook post generated more buzz than we could've ever imagined, which proves that there have been a number of gamers that have had their needs ignored for some time," said Razer CEO and Chief Gamer Min-Liang Tan.

"We pride ourselves on being gamers ourselves, and we all know that there is no substitute for gaming with your dominant hand."

The Naga MMO Gaming Mouse can program thousands of in-game commands and has a 5,000 dpi 3.5G laser sensor, plus a 1,000 Hz Ultrapolling rate / 1ms response time. Furthermore, the tracking speed is of 200 inches per second.

Also, there are 17 MMO-optimized buttons, twelve of them arranged in a thumb grid.

Furthermore, Razer chose zero-acoustic Ultraslick mouse feet and even made it possible to organize many character profiles and the like via AddOns (custom in-game interfaces for WoW, Warhammer Online and other titles).

“It’s official, the Left-Handed Naga is happening. The community has spoken! 10,000 likes were achieved within a week after the announcement was made. It won’t be here until at least next year - but rest assured that it’s in the works,” said Tan on the Razer facebook page.
