It's quite a well known fact that, for a lot of people, the desktop PC represents the center of their whole home entertainment system, being used for surfing the Internet, playing games, watching movies and so on. And that's exactly the reason why Razer, a company specialized in the development of hi-tech gaming accessories and other unique and attractive products, has just announced the launch of the Razer Mako, an unique, Hi-Fi, sexy and powerful bi-amplified multimedia speaker system for desktops.

And powerful is just an understatement in this case, because the Mako is the first ever desktop speaker system to incorporate the highly innovative THX Ground Plane and THX Slot Speaker technologies, which - according to Razer - set a whole new standard when it comes to acoustic fidelity and performance, as they create an omni-directional soundstage with a broad and uniform response pattern. Moreover, Mako's special design (which to us, normal users, looks just plain sexy) is actually specially engineered in order to eliminate most of the distortions from the ?desk-bounce? phenomenon.

Here is a list of the most important specifications and features the Moko speaker system from Razer has to offer:

- system features true, bi-amplified satellites with two channels of 50W with full digital DSP control; - overall system power: 300 W, with 6 channels of 50 W each; - overall frequency range of 30-20,000 Hz and Axial Response Limits of +/- 2dB at 40-18,000 Hz (-6dB at 30 and 20,000Hz); - ClassHD digital amplifier technology with full DSP control which facilitates operation at a much higher efficiency curve, - improved Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR), improved EMI, reduced idle consumption, and lowered amplifier delay.

There's no word on the Razer website regarding the product's price or availability, but the Mako has been showcased at CES 2007, so it will probably become available later on this year.
