It simulates 360-degree surround sound without extra speakers

Normally, in order to give the impression of 360-degree surround sound in headphones, it takes the incorporation of more than one positional speaker driver in each ear cup.

When making the Kraken 7.1, however, Razer achieved that feat through another method.

Specifically, the company implemented a virtual surround sound engine capable of ultra-low latency audio processing.

Thus, 360-degree surround is simulated. It's not the same as the real thing, but buyers will be hard-pressed to notice the difference.

Anyway, the Razer Kraken 7.1 Surround Sound USB gaming headset has just been released and uses Razer's Synapse 2.0 unified configuration software.

It boasts an omni-directional digital microphone, a mic mute button, an LED indicator, volume controls and a price of $99.99 / €74.80 - €99.99. You'll find out everything about it if you take a stop at the product page.
