We're quite used to see Razer roll out some pretty impressive gaming peripherals, but at this year's CES, they've really gone to the next level with their Switchblade concept, a portable computing solution meant to replace the usual mouse and keyboard with an ultra-sensitive multi-touch screen and dynamic tactile keyboard for gaming on the go.

The “Razer Switchblade” gaming-oriented netbook concept has been designed in order to allow gamers to play on the go and integrates two multi-touch seven-inch screens, and an innovative tactile dynamic keyboard.

“The main problem with mobile PC gaming so far is that no one has been able to port the full mouse and keyboard experience onto a small size portable solution," said Min-Liang Tan, CEO and creative director, Razer, adding that “by combining adaptive on-the-fly controls and display, we managed to maintain the full tactile keyboard in a miniature computer while saving valuable screen estate."

"With our established focus on human interface devices, moving the mouse and keyboard experience to the next level was a natural step" continues Min-Liang Tan, concluding that "Razer isn't just about bringing innovation to the PC, but creating products that will change the future of gaming. The Razer Switchblade is one such product”.

Naturally, since Intel is also involved in this project, Brad Graff, director of gaming platforms for Intel's Ultra Mobility Group, also had a few things to comment on this topic, saying that "the Intel Atom processor, combined with Razer's expertise in bringing gaming solutions to market, will help make it possible for consumers to have a powerful gaming experience in mobile devices."

Of course, given just how cool this thing really is, all we can hope for right now is that Razer will manage to turn it into a full-fledged product, because if they do, they're certain to achieve market success quite quickly.
