Interestingly enough, Wildstar also got a pretty good start, showing up at number 6

Raptr has published a list of the most played PC games from June 2014, showing what games dominated the playing field and how some recent promotions influenced the popularity of a couple of titles.

The top 20 list is topped by Riot Games' League of Legends and Valve's Dota 2, surprising nobody, considering the popularity of the two multiplayer online battle arena games.

League of Legends' dominant position is also due to the game receiving new character, item and map patches throughout the month, as well as featuring a limited time only run of the One For All: Mirror Mode.

Dota 2 registered a 25 percent playtime increase in June compared to May, which is likely on account of the Steam Summer Sale activity increase registered by Valve's platform.

Still unsurprisingly, World of Warcraft is a pretty strong presence among the PC gaming sector, dominating all competition from the number 3 spot. Wildstar, Turbine's massively multiplayer online role-playing game that debuted at the beginning of June, is seeing a very good start, positioning itself at number 6, and likely stealing a portion of Blizzard's user base.

Four more MMOs managed to make the top 20 cut, in the form of World Of Tanks, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Guild Wars 2 and The Elder Scrolls Online, which saw an almost 50 percent decrease in time played since May, dropping a few positions and coming behind The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which got a slight boost, presumably from the upset TESO players that got back to it.

Additionally, Star Wars: The Old Republic was kicked off the list completely, probably due to all adventures in the extended universe made pointless by George Lucas deciding that only the first three movies were proper canon.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Diablo 3, Battlefield 4 and Minecraft are also permanent stars of the top 10, as is Blizzard Entertainment's virtual collectible card game, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, but a nice surprise comes in the form of Ubisoft's open-world hacking adventure title Watch Dogs seeing an increase in popularity since last month.

The aftermath of the Steam Summer Sale is also visible within the top 20, seeing Payday 2 climbing the ranks, and Origin's On the House program also translated into a spike in popularity for DICE's Battlefield 3, which saw a phenomenal 230 percent increase in play time.

Do note, however, that these statistics only relate to the hours of gameplay registered by those who use Raptr for each play session.
