The peripherals run on the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band and sell, together, for $89 / €89

Those who have the money to get high-end hardware often like to see their items matching in looks, so Rapoo has decided to make things easy for them and launch a keyboard + mouse set.

Peripheral sets are hardly a new development. They've been around for about as long as keyboards and mice have, individually. Which is to say, several decades.

That has only become a form of incentive though. Incentive to make the latest inventions stand out amidst the crowd.

It's doubly challenging when you have certain design boundaries to respect, like certain color options and material choices.

So, if you need to make a smooth, black set of peripherals, you'll have to put in the effort to make the key shape and positioning draw attention, and maybe give the mouse a nice perk or two.

That's what Rapoo did when it made the 8900P Advanced Wireless Mouse and Keyboard Set, composed of the E9270P keyboard and the 7800P mouse.

The former, the E9270P, is an “ultra-slim touch keyboard with intelligent, multimedia touch keys,” as Rapoo calls it.

It has normal buttons (albeit square-cut ones, for the most part), but the multimedia keys aren't really keys. Instead, the company provided a touch panel, with illuminated symbols for the various functions (play, pause, volume fast forward, skip, play/pause, etc.).

Rapoo also opted for the scissors key structure (floating chiclet keys in case you were wondering). All in all, not bad for a product made of stainless steel and aluminum alloy. Being 4 mm thick will definitely impress buyers.

The mouse, meanwhile, has a high-definition laser, with resolution of 800 DPI to 1,600 DPI. A single key lets you choose between the two. The former will help with accuracy, the latter with speed.

Furthermore, the 8900P has a 4D scroll wheel, which means that you can scroll both vertically and horizontally through a page. Sure, it's the same as pressing the scroll button and just moving the mouse around, but it never hurts to have ease of use.

Both the Rapoo E9270P keyboard and 7800P mouse use wireless receivers to communicate with a PC. You plug the small item in a USB port and let the 5 GHz Wi-Fi wireless band do the rest.

The Rapoo 8900P Advanced Wireless Mouse and Keyboard Set has a price of $89.99 / €89.99. Both the keyboard and the mouse should be able to last for a year on battery power.
