It would appear that lawsuits aren't the only new kinds of events happening on the IT market around the holidays, as certain high-profile employees from a company or another are also apparently leaving their posts in favor of other employment opportunities.

Some time ago, HP let go of is Chief Executive Officer after charges of misconduct when dealing with female employees.

Granted, recently it began to be suspected that Hurd was fired for other reasons, namely insider information exchange.

Regardless, this was still one even when a certain figure from a company ended up in the camp of another, Oracle in Hurd's case.

Now, something slightly similar has occurred between HP and Microsoft, as a certain CTO from the former switched over to work for the latter.

The person that gave up his position with HP and accepted one at Microsoft was none other than Rahul Sood, who used to be the CTO for gaming with HP.

Henceforth, he will act as the GM for System Experience in the interactive Entertainment Business for the creator of Windows.

What Sood will be responsible for is not altogether clear, but he did say, on his blog, that he will be “working on some really….really…really cool stuff come January 2011.”

'Well, it's probably time I let the cat out of the bag. I am happy to announce that I’ll be joining Microsoft as the GM for System Experience in the Interactive Entertainment Business,” he stated.

For those that do not know, Rahul Sood was, originally, the head of Voodoo, a company that used to create custom gaming systems before HP acquired it in 2006.

What remains is for end-users to patiently, or impatiently, wait until CES 2011 actually arrives and see just what Microsoft managed to put together with Sood's assistance and if whatever it is has anything to do with Kinect or the Xbox.
