With all the special versions of AMD's and NVIDIA's most recent cards coming out, the various hardware makers are bringing out the big guns, so to speak, and MSI has just done something of the sort, or is about to, with its new HD 6870.

As end-users know, the Radeon HD 6870 is the more powerful of the new HD 6800 Series of video controllers.

The duo was released not overly long ago as an offering for the higher half of the mainstream market segment, the same one addressed by NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 460.

Since the cards' arrival, AMD's various partners have released quite a number of stock-clocked or overclocked versions.

Now, Micro-Star International is preparing a Radeon HD 6870 equipped with the more or less famous Twin Frozr II cooling system.

Like all HD 6870 boards, this new model should possess 1,120 Stream processors, as well as 1 GB of GDDR5 VRAM and a memory interface of 256 bits.

DirectX 11, CrossFireX, Eyefinity and all other AMD technologies will also be supported.

Unfortunately, the leak which provided the press photo of the adapter had no sort of actual details on the performance numbers. As such, the clock speeds of the GPU, shaders and memory are not known.

On the other hand, the cooler itself at least suggests how much of an improvement in heat dispersion one may expect.

The dual-fan Twin Frozr II Is said to be able to drive temperatures about 19 degrees Celsius lower than the reference solutions, while also being quieter by 12.8 dB.

Regardless, all information will be disclosed, according to the leak, by the end of the week, on Saturday to be exact.

This means that interested end-users won't have to wait too long for the frequencies, along with availability and pricing details, to be delivered.
