Ideal wife: male readers of Esquire vote Rachel Weisz as the top marriable celebrity

The “Women We Love” issue of Esquire magazine, the February issue, is out at newsstands tomorrow but, for those wondering about who made the cut and who didn’t, we should mention that British actress Rachel Weisz was named top marriage material. At the opposite pole – no surprise there – is former glamour model Katie Price / Jordan, who got just one vote from the Esquire readers, the Telegraph informs.

Although she’s not married, it would seem that the male readers of the prestigious publication see Weisz as the ideal woman they’d like to settle down with. Of course, she isn’t the woman they would like to sleep with as well, since that distinction went to Cheryl Cole, former WAG and very popular judge on the X Factor televised singing competition.

“The star of ‘The Mummy’ and ‘The Lovely Bones’ beat Keira Knightley into second place, while Kate Winslet was third. Jordan, the pneumatic glamour model, received just one vote in the poll by Esquire magazine,” the Telegraph says of the results for the most marriable female celebrity of the moment. “Dawn French, the comedian and actress, topped the list of the best women to go for a drink with, while Cheryl Cole was named the woman who men would most like to sleep with,” the publication further informs.

Weisz herself was extremely surprised by the results of the poll, despite her popularity with male audiences for her incredible beauty, as well as for her obvious talent. The irony of the results, she says for Esquire, is that, while she’s considered ideal wife-material, she is far from being one. The star, as fans must know, is engaged to movie director Darren Aronofsky, with whom she has a son, Henry.

“Oh my God! Really? That’s so funny. I’m marriable. But I’m not married! I was getting worried that the men didn’t like me any more, but your readers’ poll puts my mind at rest,” the actress says joking.
