Lindsay Lohan may have received an award for her (inexistent) movie comeback at an Italian film festival last week, but that doesn’t change the fact that she hasn’t had a hit on her hands in many years. Rachel McAdams, on the other hand, has been working steadily and winning fans with each new release.

How the tables have turned. A decade ago, the two starred in the iconic comedy “Mean Girls” and it was Lindsay who was the bigger star and Rachel who was looking up to her.

The admission comes from Rachel herself, who tells the August issue of Allure magazine that, when she worked with Lindsay, she couldn’t believe her eyes how talented she was.

“If anything, I was in awe of her talent. I looked at her as this experienced actor, and she had great comedic timing, so natural. It’s just funny to hear that because you never know what people are thinking. We all try to act like we’ve got it together,” she says.

These must be the nicest things anyone has said of Lindsay in months. Considering how many times she spoke of wanting to come back to making movies and the promises she made to the world that she would not mess up again, she hasn’t been keeping her word: she’s back to partying and not working, and even her fans are losing hope in her cause.

Hearing McAdams speak so highly of Lindsay only makes her downfall sadder because it reminds us of what was lost.
