If just a few years ago OLED screens were reserved for top of the line smartphones and a few small screen TVs, things are a lot different right now as these panels have become commonplace in consumer electronics everywhere, RTI just announcing they have started shipping two dual-RF OLED remotes.

Dubbed the T2-C+ and T3-V+, both units combine a 433-MHz RF for one-way control and a 2.4-GHz ZigBee controller for bidirectional communication, their long feature list making them ideal for being used as stand-alone controllers or as integral parts of an advanced control system.

Although pretty similar there are some differences between the two models as the older T3-V+ comes with a 3.5-inch full-VGA touch-screen as well as 802.11b/g wireless Ethernet and a built-in Web browser, the T2-C+ having to make do with a 2.8-inch QVGA resolution touch-screen and dropping the WiFi support.

Furthermore, the T3-V+ is enhanced with an updated hard button configuration including five soft keys that allow for custom button-engraving options from RTI.

However, both of these two remotes support third-party electronics such as music servers, lighting, and even Web-based RSS feeds as well as a completely customizable user interface.

"We are very excited to be shipping our next-generation T2-C+ and T3-V+ handheld controllers, which introduce a number of features that you won't find on any other remote," said Pete Baker, vice president of sales and marketing for RTI.

"The revolutionary dual RF board technology provides unprecedented convenience for dealers, and consumers will marvel at the stunning OLED touch-screen of the T2-C+.

Add in the updated hard button configuration and engraving options of the T3-V+, and you've got two remotes that significantly raise the bar for the industry," concluded the company's rep.

Both the T2-C+ and the T3-V+ are available right now for shipping, although RTI didn't state how much will one of these OLED packing remotes set you back.
