In October 2005, ROK TV was the first ever service to stream multi-channel TV programs directly to 2.5 G mobile phones through GPRS which now - according to them - is at a faster frame rate than any existing 3G TV service.

"ROK TV is a massive break-through in streaming content to mobile handsets. Mobile TV is a much-anticipated development in mobile phone content: the networks want it, the channel owners and content owners want it and research shows the public want it", said Jonathan Kendrick, Chairman and CEO of ROK Entertainment.

Because only 5% of the 2.5 billion handsets from around the world have 3G capabilities, the TV service is offered via 2.5G GPRS.

Now, the mobile communications and entertainment specialist is announcing the compatibility of ROK TV with Symbian 3 handsets, among which Nokia N71, N73, N80 and N93. ROK TV currently offers 21 channels. In the UK, channels can be viewed individually for 99p per month while all channels can be viewed for ? 9.99 plus network data charges. Apart from the UK, the service is also available in China and the USA.

"To be able to add these new high-end handsets to our compatibility list is a major development in the deployment of mobile TV services worldwide", said Jonathan Kendrick, Chairman of ROK. ROK also expects to expand further in 2007, with plans to build and operate 30 white-label mobile TV services over both 2.5G and 3G for selected mobile networks globally.

ROK also plans to build and operate 30 white-label mobile TV services over both 2.5 and 3G networks throughout this year.
