Telus has decided that, since the holidays are almost here, it would be great if it had a hit device on its shelves. So that things would evolve in the right direction, Telus has brought Canadian users the Storm, a highly appreciated device.

By now, the Storm is a pretty well known mobile, but just in case, its main features and capabilities are represented by the 3.2 Megapixel, flash, zoom, autofocus, imagine stabilization camera, the built-in GPS system, with BlackBerry maps, the high speed USB, Bluetooth 2.0, the Facebook, MySpace and instant messaging services support, plus the SD/SHDC micro slot card supporting up to 16GB of expandable memory.

In addition to all this, the SurePress touchscreen feature key offers tactile feedback, and makes for a much smoother and pleasant navigation experience. On top of that, the 3G support and the full HTML web browsing capabilities make it easy for users to keep in touch with family or work, and to also keep themselves entertained almost endlessly.

More importantly, even if the Storm is a great acquisition for the Canadian company, the feature it is most trying to impress with is not necessarily an embedded one, but more likely an acquired one, since Telus is offering a time limited music gift for those buying it.

In essence, this is one of those winter celebrations schemes that most operators are using, and Telus makes no exception. Nonetheless, this does not mean that it's going to be a useless gift. On the contrary, since it offers pre-loaded songs and videos from Canada's most famous artists, to some, this might just become a deal making feature.

In order for clients to enjoy these songs, Telus has collaborated with Arts&Crafts, an independent music label, and all these recording are going to be available on an 8GB micro SHDC card. Also, the Canadian network operator is emphasizing the fact that this is a limited offer that must be quickly considered.

John Watson, president of TELUS Consumer Solutions talked about the Storm's launch in Canada, saying, "We've experienced unprecedented interest in the BlackBerry Storm smartphone and are pleased that Canadians are just as excited about the BlackBerry Storm as we are. [...] With exclusive TELUS content and excellent plans for every kind of BlackBerry smartphone client, we're able to take the touch-screen experience to new heights, while reinforcing TELUS' position as Canada's smartphone leader."

This device is already available and it is priced at $249.99 on a 3-year deal and $599.99, no contract whatsoever. In addition, some monthly Telus fees are going to have to be taken into account as well.
