Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion has seen poor sales of its BlackBerry PlayBook tablet PC, but it seems that it is still considering the release of a second version.

Hints at a new PlayBook device have just been spotted, being included in the next flavor of the tablet OS, which should arrive sometime in February.

Chances are that the OS will make a debut on the new device, and the fact that N4BB found clues of 1280 × 768-pixels resolution support in the platform seems to prove that.

Moreover, the upcoming device is expected to arrive on shelves with support for 4G LTE networks, which are becoming increasingly popular all around the world.

Rumor has it that these features might make it inside RIM’s upcoming high-end smartphones as well, since the company plans on merging the Tablet OS with the upcoming BlackBerry 10 platform.
