Halloween is getting near so it's time to celebrate

With Halloween getting near is time for some good old-fashioned pumpkin smashing fun and what better way to make it all more interesting that to film it super slow-motion at 1,000fps.

And this is just what a YouTube user had in mind when it took a RED Epic camera to record this truly entertaining video that is enclosed above the post.

Those of you that know a thing or two about RED's creation, should be quick to point out that the Epic can “only” record images at 300fps, so a few hacks were required for this video to reach the 1,000fps he runs at now.

The answer was a software application called Twixtor, which can add extra frames to videos to make them running even slower than the speed they were filmed at.

The end result is truly impressive, especially when considering that the video was recorded in a parking lot with the pumpkins being dropped from a three story building nearby.
