The player borrowed some LG design features

Here is another portable media player coming from China. The new Ramos Blue Damon RM 550 version with 2GB storage capacity enters the 399 yuan price range after another price cut. The thing is the player resembles the Chocolized series from LG, though it lacks the fine elegant shape and the high quality material.

The player supports a lot of popular file formats such as MP3,WMA, AVI, MPEG,WAV, JPEG, XviD and features an additional built-in microphone that allows easy voice recording of any funny memos or shopping lists. Not to mention the ID3 tag V1.0 option that enables the user to receive all the information he/she needs regarding the artist and the favorite song.

We suspect that the player is not into any gaming functions, since the shape brings up the elegance statement. Given the photos that have been recently posted on the sites, the company seems to be pleased with the new item. Which is pretty understandable since the player sports a lot of features that represent an improvement over the majority of devices currently coming from China.

Regarding its design, the player features a 2.4-inch 320 x 240 pixels QVGA screen. Just as another Chinese player named YOTO MVP-800, the Ramos plays XviD encoded AVI. In case the users might get bored of the player's music, they can always rely on the FM tuner that the manufacturers have added to the recipe.

It has an USB and TF card slot, TransFlash and MicroSD are the same thing and one can be easily used to fit in for the other.

An important detail is the generously small size of the payer, of only 85 x 50 x 11.5 mm and also the matchbox-like lightweight of only 50g that make the device almost unnoticeable in the bag, or in the pocket.

This 2GB Blue Damon can be successfully used as an e-book reader and an image viewer. I am just wondering if the player can slideshow images and play music at the same time; and could the Blue Damon be a response to Black Diamond?
