I like money. You like money. They like money. We like money. You like money. They like money. Hmmm, doesn't sound that bad does it?

No, this won't be a grammar lesson and not even one of those articles in which celebrities get bashed because they only care about dollars, dinero, greenies and whatever they are called these days.

I will not do that because of what you just read at the beginning of this article and if you think you don't fit somewhere in those first six sentences, raise your hands up. What? No hands up? I thought so.

Now let's begin. This article is about the fact that David Beckham has another reason to be happy about besides being one of the world's most famous football players and having lots and lots of money. For the ones living in the US, football is the game that you call soccer and that is why you didn't hear about Beckham until now, although I have serious doubts that people not knowing who he is still live on the face of the Earth.

Getting back to the subject, guess what is the reason Beckham should be happy about? Considering the fact he has almost everything he wants for now, the only logical remaining reason so he could be even more happy is that more money will go to his bank accounts and, when it comes to make money, David is one of the best at it.

How come, you say? Well the clever footballer has signed a deal with the mobile phone manufacturer Motorola and they have launched in Tokyo, Japan (yes, the country where Beckham is seen as the god of football :) ), a new edition of their best selling handset, the RAZR, named very appropriately M702iS (don't ask why because I don't know and I suppose they are the only ones in possession of this secret).

What does it have so special? The most important thing, from a marketing point of view of course because we are talking about making money here, is a picture of David Beckham's tattoo placed on its case and I suppose this is really going to make a lot of M702iS' leave the shelves in a hurry.

The spec sheet also mentions this phone is 3G enabled and has WCDMA support, a 1.3 megapixel camera for video calls and a 3 megapixel digital camera for capturing the artistic part of your life, a 2.2 inch 240x320 pixels QVGA TFT display, a microSD memory expansion card slot for the storage needy Japanese and a handy English-Japanese translator.

I know, there aren't many things to be impressed about, but let's not be mean and recognize it: this clamshell does look kind of cool and if you think otherwise, I'm sure there will be hundreds of David Beckham Japanese fans to contradict you at any given moment in case you express this opinion out loud while walking on some Tokyo street. I was going to say "in the middle of the day" but luckily, I remembered Japanese people never sleep :).

I don't know if that is really true or not but there is one thing I'm convinced about: this version of the RAZR is going to sell in huge numbers and the Motorola-Beckham team will get enough money out of it to be totally satisfied with their collaboration.
