Bethesda Softworks, the video game publisher that will publish the upcoming first-person shooter RAGE, has announced that all those who will take a chance and pre-order the title will be getting an automatic upgrade to the Anarchy Edition of the video games, which includes quite bit of extra content.

The items which will initially only be delivered via the Anarchy package include:

- a new Double Barrel Shotgun, designed to make the player more capable in close quarter firefights; - a Crimson Elite Armor suit, which increases survivability in tough situations; - the Fist of Rage, a name that sums up their use; - the Rat Rod Buggy, a stylish and powerful way to travel through the game world.

All the items will probably be launched as downloadable content for a price once RAGE has been out for some time.

At the moment, the Anarchy Edition can only be pre-ordered in North America from retailers like GameStop, Amazon.com, Steam, or Direct2Drive.

Bethesda says that it will soon offer information on pre-orders and bonuses for Europe, but it's not clear whether the Anarchy Edition of RAGE will be involved or whether other content is being prepared.

RAGE is a significant video game because it is the first wholly original project that id Software, now under the protective arm of Bethesda, has done in a long time.

The game is a first-person shooter at its core although the development team is also introducing vehicle-based sections and some light role-playing aspects.

RAGE is the first video game to use the entirely new id Tech 5 engine and is set to be launched on the PC, the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the PlayStation 3 from Sony, with the game arriving on September 13 in North America and three days later in Europe.
