Let me just preface this by saying that I love Quentin Tarantino and I consider him one of the most talented and bold writers and directors of modern cinematography. If you feel the same way about his work as I do, then you should be thrilled to find out that he’s already working on a new movie.

His most recent release was “Django Unchained,” which won him an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay and a handful of nominations in various categories, though not in the Best Director one, sadly.

As they say, tomorrow is also a day, so hopefully Tarantino will get his shot at it with his next project, of which he told Jay Leno that it’s another western, though not a “Django” sequel.

You can see the segment from the interview in the video above. It also includes a detailed account of Quentin’s writing process which involves, as he puts it, soaking in the heated pool for long periods and writing notes by hand, not on the computer.

The end is absolutely adorable, with Tarantino letting all his inner geekiness show when Leno presents him with a custom-made mug from the show that reads “Best Direct.” So sweet.
