People usually read tabloids to see the latest boob-gossip, the weather forecast and... more gossip? It seems that these tabloids are slowly starting to go next-gen and take some people for the ride. The same happened with the British tabloid, The People, who reported that Queen Elizabeth is starting to become hooked on Nintendo Wii games.

They have a "Palace source" that told the publication that Kate Middleton, Prince William's girlfriend, bought him a Nintendo Wii as a present for Christmas and the Prince was really happy with the gift. So happy that he started playing some Nintendo Bowling - and the Queen saw it all and, even more, enjoyed what she was seeing. So she joined the game and "by all accounts, was a natural", the tabloid's source says.

However, The People reports that Queen Elizabeth is not quite a stranger to gadgets, since she began to purchase mobile phones starting 2001 (and constantly upgrades them to ones with the latest features), she has, since 2005, an iPod that stores more than 100,000 tunes and recently she purchased a BlackBerry. And this, for the British people, might be a sign of joy, knowing that The Queen is aware of and enjoys the modern, next-gen stuff.

And the next big thing for her seems to be the Nintendo Wii, which, according to the same "Palace source", is starting to get her addicted. Prince William himself is quite a gadget and boy-toy fan, but in order to enjoy his latest toy, he has to wait for his grandmother to finish with it. But this doesn't seem to annoy the prince, who is actually very happy that he has such a "cool gran" who proves to have quite some skills at playing video games.

"And although she is 81 the Queen's hand-eye co-ordination was as good as somebody half her age," The People's inside source said. So everything sounds fine... or, it could get just a little bit better: We're sure that Queen Elizabeth can purchase her own Wii console, even though they're something almost impossible to get nowadays. But we're sure Prince William deserves to play, too.
