Celebrity-endorsed beauty products are all the rage these days - well, maybe not for customers as much, but for the celebrities themselves, endorsing a clothes or shoe line or lending your name to a brand of perfume is the latest must-have accessory. Everyone from Paris Hilton to Fergie and LL Cool J are playing the fashion and beauty game, and are probably having a blast doing it - otherwise, we can't explain why so many others are jumping on the bandwagon. The latest addition to the list of celebrities who really, really want their own fragrance is rapper turned actress, turned jazz singer Queen Latifah.

Latifah has entered into a partnership with Parlux Fragrances Inc. - which, incidentally, is the same company which released the Paris Hilton and Jessica Simpson fragrance - and will soon come up with a series of scents to tickle the "artistic" side of women. "Every woman is a Queen in Latifah's world," reads a statement from Neil J. Katz, Chairman and CEO of Parlux Fragrances. "With that sense of empowerment in mind, the fragrance we will create together is, naturally, going to express not simply beauty and sensuality but inner strength and an exuberant sense of confidence".

The singer is no stranger a novice to the product endorsement game, as she previously lent her name to beauty products for Cover Girl, a fast food restaurant (Pizza Hut) and a weight loss program (Jenny Craig). Despite making her weight struggle public, Latifah explains that she never stopped believing in her inner beauty. "For me, beauty really does start on the inside," she explained. "It's like a state of mind, a state of love if you will. So I see fragrance as just a natural expression of this state of love: scent expresses a woman's confidence and sensuality; it's how she embraces her body, her mind and her strength". The first Queen Latifah fragrance will be available starting next year.
