NVIDA’s main competitor on the chipset market, Qualcomm has just announced that its “Snapdragon GameCommand” application for Android devices will go live at 2012 Consumers Electronics Show, next week in Las Vegas.

Qualcomm revealed its plans to release this showcase application about two months ago. In addition, the company confirmed it would expand its more than 100 games Snapdragon GamePack with more console-quality game titles for devices that feature Snapdragon processors.

According to the chipset manufacturer, “Snapdragon GameCommand” application will be launched in the Android Market on January 10, the opening day of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

“Snapdragon GameCommand” looks very much the same as NVIDIA’s Tegra Zone and is limited to Android devices that feature Qualcomm chipsets.

With this Android application, users will be given the chance to quickly discover, manage and access exclusive Snapdragon optimized games.

With mobile gaming proliferating at a blistering pace, apps like Snapdragon GameCommand make it easy for consumers to discover and access the most advanced Snapdragon optimized games. With exclusive and highly-anticipated games like ‘Fight Game Heroes’ and ‘The Reem’ Snapdragon mobile gaming is really starting to heat up,” said Dave Durnil, director of advanced gaming at Qualcomm.

Qualcomm already revealed several titles exclusively available on Snapdragon devices running on Android for a limited time: “Fight Game Heroes” from Khaeon Gamestudio and "The Ball" from Tripwire Interactive.

More exclusive game titles will be available for Android users via "Snapdragon GameCommand" application, including “Bunny Maze 3D” from Eyelead Software and “Desert Winds” from Southend Interactive.

All exclusive titles offered by Qualcomm will be available in the Android Market as well, as soon as the exclusivity period ends.

Unfortunately, Snapdragon GameCommand will be launched only in North America next week, but Qualcomm confirmed plans to introduce the application in other markets at a later date.
