The CES 2011 launch of Intel's 2'nd Generation Intel Core Processors (better know for their nickname, Sandy Bridge) has prompted just about every computer manufacturer and system integrator out there to come up with a host of new products built on this platform, and that's also the case with Dell, whose latest offering of this type is the new Dell Vostro 460 desktop PC unit, targeting specifically small and medium businesses (SMBs).

According to Dell, their new Vostro 460 is powered by Quad Core processors (Intel Core i7 (2600) and Intel Core i5 (2500, 2400)), while also leveraging the benefits provided by Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0, not to mention the built-in Intel H67 Express chipset that's also a part of this platform.

In terms of graphics, the Dell Vostro 460 relies heavily on the built-in HD Graphics solution from Intel the 2nd Generation Intel Core CPUs come equipped with, but the company does mention the fact that users looking for more graphics horsepower will be able to upgrade their offerings to 1GB NVIDIA or ATI HD discrete graphics cards, should they desire to do so.

For storage purposes, the new Vostro employs HDDs with a total capacity of up to 3TB, while the unit supports up to 16GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1333Mhz - 4 DIMMS backed by a 350W PSU, all of the aforementioned components being housed within a tool-less chassis.

Additional features worth mentioning include extensive connectivity options, namely no less than 8 x USB 2.0 ports (USB 3.0 is also available via an add-on card), as well as the fact that the new Vostro unit also offers a Blu-ray disc drive and 7.1 HD sound.

Pricing for the new SMB-oriented Vostro 460 starts at around $599, which is actually a fairly OK sum to pay for such a computing machine, all things considered.
