Not long ago, we received some information about the business-class A-Series accelerated processing units from Advanced Micro Devices. Now, we have some details about one of them.

The chip in question is called A10-6790B and is a quad-core unit with a frequency of 4 GHz and a TDP (thermal design power) of 100W.

The chip's x86 cores are in pairs, part of Piledrive dual-core modules.

As for the graphics side of things, AMD included a Radeon HD 8000 GPU, probably the HD 8670D.

The “B” at the end of the name is what defines it as a business APU. The locked overclocking multiplier is expected. This isn't a chip likely to end up in an enthusiast PC.

On that note, there is no official price for the chip, and there won't be because only pre-configured OEM computers will have it. No retail availability is planned.
