The newest mid-range Android smartphone coming from Chinese handset manufacturer Oppo is called Yoyo and has been recently made official in Malaysia.

Unfortunately, as GizChina points out, the Oppo did no share any details regarding the smartphone’s price tag and availability. However, Oppo Yoyo is now listed on the company’s official website, so we expect it to go on sale in the coming days.

All in all, Oppo fans will be pleased to know that Malaysia is not the only country where Yoyo will go on sale in the coming weeks. According to GadgetsToUse, Oppo Yoyo is about to make its debut in India as well.

The information seems to be confirmed by some transit documents uncovered via Zauba. The Oppo Yoyo seems to have arrived in India and is now being tested on the local market. If everything turns out ok, Android fans in India should start looking for the Oppo Yoyo in the next few weeks.

Oppo Yoyo is a mid-range Android smartphone that comes with a unique screen transfer technology called HotKnot, which allows users to share photos, songs and files by simply touching the two displays.

According to Oppo, HotKnot “will send files immediately as fast as Wi-Fi transmission speed.” This looks like the standard NFC (Near Field Communication) technology, but the Chinese company made it possible to transfer data by touching two displays.

Aside from this interesting technology, the Oppo Yoyo is pretty ordinary. The smartphone comes with a 4.7-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution.

On the inside, the upcoming smartphone packs a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor, which is complemented by 1GB of RAM and only 4GB of internal memory.

This sounds exactly the same as most smartphones launched by various Indian OEMs, so Oppo will need to price the Yoyo aggressively if it wants to be competitive on the Indian market.

Furthermore, users will be able to further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD memory card slot. On the back, the Oppo Yoyo features a 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front, there’s a secondary 2-megapixel camera for video calls.

It is also worth mentioning that Oppo Yoyo offers dual-SIM with dual standby support, along with various connectivity options, including Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth and microUSB.

Oppo Yoyo will ship with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and is likely to be priced under Rs 15,000 ($250 / €180) outright.
