Indian OEM Intex is about to launch yet another affordable Android smartphone with dual-SIM capabilities and Jelly Bean. These features seem to have become standard for all Indian OEMs releasing Android smartphones in the country, so the only thing that could set them apart is price and look.

All these affordable smartphones are usually packed with MediaTek chipsets and offer microSD card for memory expansion due to the fact that they feature a low amount of storage.

The same goes for the Intex Aquad N4, the new smartphone from Indian OEM, which is about to make its debut in India in the next couple of days.

The affordable handset has been recently spotted on Intex’s official website, Gadgets to Use reports. Unfortunately, Intex did not unveil any details on the Aqua N4 release date and pricing options, so we can only assume that it will be launched in the next few days for less than Rs 8,000 ($130 / €95).

As mentioned earlier, these affordable Android smartphones launched in India tend to have similar specs, so depending on price tag, you may get a better camera, but a low-performance processor. The good news is that the offer is quite high, as some Indian OEMs launch at least 2-3 new smartphones every week.

Intex Aqua N4 is no different from other Android smartphones in its price range. It offers dual-SIM support and ships with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box.

On the back, Intex has confirmed that the smartphone will pack a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and video recording, which should be enough for taking decent pictures while on the move. There’s also a secondary 1.3-megapixel camera in the front, which is supposed to be used for selfies and video calls.

The Aqua N4 is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, most likely provided by MediaTek. The bad news is that it features only 512MB of RAM, which is confusing. It’s unclear why Intex included a quad-core CPU, but such a low amount of RAM, as many apps and games won’t benefit from the processor’s performance.

Anyway, Intex also lists the Aqua N4 as having 4GB of internal memory, but also microSD card slot for storage expansion (up 32GB). It is also worth mentioning that the smartphone sports a 4-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

Last but not least, Intex Aqua N4 should provide standard connectivity options such as 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS, as well as a rather small capacity 1400 mAh battery.
