DDR3 memory modules are finally gaining some ground against the older but very popular DDR2 standard as more hardware manufacturing companies are adopting the new modules and this trend is observable even among smaller producers like Quimonda AG. AENEON, one of the Quimonda AG's brands, just announced the launch of a DDR3 compliant memory module that is operating at a clock frequency of 1333MHz, while keeping the latency timings at a low level.

As the DDR3 is the next generation memory technology that will be integrated first and foremost in high performance desktop computer systems, the new AENEON XTUNE DDR3 modules are specially designed and manufactured with the enthusiast market segment in mind, so it is able to deliver a fast, stable and reliable system operation.

The DDR3 memories from AENEON are now available as single modules with a nominal capacity of 1GB and they run at a clock speed of 1333MHz, while also using the 8-8-8-15 latency timings alongside the JEDEC approved standard voltage setting for DDR3 of 1.5V. Thanks to the fact that these memory modules are using this low voltage, they do not heat up as much as their overvoltage counterparts that need elaborate and expensive cooling solutions. Nonetheless the AENEON XTUNE DDR3 modules are factory equipped with a heat dissipation system that allows it to run cool even under heavy workloads.

''Our new XTUNE DDR3 memory series in combination with leading edge motherboard and processor technology will leverage the enthusiasts' performance experience and demonstrate the DDR3 main advantages as one of the first products in the market: offering high-speed computing as well as limiting power consumption due to a reduced memory supply voltage of 1.5 V'', said Dr Carsten Gatzke, Vice President of the Business Unit AENEON at Qimonda, who was cited by the hardware news site vr-zone.

The XTUNE DDR3-1333 Dual Channel Kit 2x1GB is now available through AENEON dealers and other retail channel partners and the kit comes with a price tag of $400.
