Android mobile phone users have now a new reason to rejoice, as Qik has just announced that its premium service is available for free until September. Initially, the company announced that its premium services would be available for free until today, but it seems that they changed their hearts and decided to expand the availability of the free service a couple of months more. The promotion has been expanded through the end of September, the company announced.

“Heya Android Qikkers - with the launch of the new Android client and video chat capability on HTC EVO 4G, we announced premium services for Qik that will enable you to get much more from your everyday Qikking. With the announcement we had an offer to provide the premium services for free till July 15, 2010. We understand that we had a bit of a rocky start with the new and improved Qik and so as a small token of appreciation we are now extending the offer to enjoy Qik’s premium services for free till end of September,” a recent post on the Qik blog reads.

In case there are some yet unfamiliar with what Qik is all about, we should mention that it is a solution that enables users to easily share their everyday life experiences with friends and family. All the moments can be shared right away, and all is possible straight from one's mobile phone. The solution is already available on handsets running under mobile platforms like Android, Blackberry, iPhone, Symbian, Windows Mobile and more.

When it comes to the Android client, as one can read above, the company decided to expand the availability of the promotional offering following the release of an updated flavor of the app (3.54) for the high-end HTC EVO 4G. The new version of the application was meant to enhance the experience users enjoy on their devices, while also fixing a series of issues it came around with. The application is available for download in the Android Market.
