Tablets are slowly starting to make their way in every sector of human activity, including healthcare, police-force, education, and more. But what if we could have our tablet companions with us in the kitchen as well?

Surely, there are a lot of apps that could be used on the tablet while in a kitchen (to look for recipes for example), but most slates are not built for kitchen use.

This isn’t the case for the QOOQ tablet. This is actually a 10.1-inch slate that runs its own custom Linux kernel set up on a dual-core 1GHz processor. The tablet also has USB, Ethernet, SD slot card, and Wi-Fi, but no 3G.

The QOOQ has built-in legs that allow for a gap to be created between the device and the kitchen table, so users don’t get tomato sauce all over it.

But, most importantly, users can find in the tablet a cooking companion, which allows access to over 4,000 recipes, video, and how-to tutorials.

The tablet can also adjust ingredient lists, cooking time, and the amount of materials needed based on how many people are coming to dinner. And while users wait for their meal to cook, there’s always time for some web browsing, email, social media sharing, or listening to the radio.

QOOQ is available in Red, Cream, Black, Apple Green, Eggplant, Pink, Tangerine, and Yellow and will be sold for £249.99 / $413 / €304 a pop. Now there will be no excuse for you not to know how to cook.
