Rack-mounted solution for SMBs

QNAP Systems, a leading vendor of network attached storage solutions, continues to expand its line of Turbo NAS storage solutions with the introduction of its new TS-410U rack-mounted NAS server, a new product specifically designed to meet the requirements of SMB and workgroup market segments. The new solution can accommodate as much as 8TB of storage capacity, with availability for up to four 3.5-inch, hot-swappable SATA hard drives. In addition, the 1U solution can accommodate both 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch drives, providing consumers with a wider choice for expanding the total amount of storage capacity they have at their disposal.

“Most business users desire a network attached server of high stability, flexible storage expansion, and low maintenance cost. QNAP TS-410U packed with abundant server features is the ideal solution for them,” said Laurent Cheng, product manager from QNAP Systems, Inc. “The TS-410U offers comprehensive management tools, such as schedule power on/off feature, smart fan settings, e-mail and SMS alert, detailed event and connection logs for IT administrators to maintain the server easily. They can also view clear summary of the system status, e.g., CPU usage, memory size, packets received or sent, system up time, CPU/ system/ HDD temperature, and system fan speed. The TS-410U is the value-added server that business users cannot miss!” Mr. Cheng added.

Designed to take advantage of a Marvell 6281 800Mhz processor, coupled with 512MB of DDR2 RAM, the new 1U TS-410U Turbo NAS comes featured with a number of software tools that should come in handy to all those business users looking to expand and manage their storage solutions. The unit can be configured with up to four 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch drives and features two Gigabit RJ-45 Ethernet ports, four USB 2.0 ports, with three located at the back and a single one located at front, and two eSATA ports. The front-located USB offers support for a unique “Auto-copy” feature, which is activated by a button on the front panel of the NAS.

No word on pricing and availability, but the new Turbo NAS unit is expected to ship with QNAP's new V3 NAS management software, which offers a number of new features, including virtual disk drive support and QNAP RAID Recovery.
