QNAP, one of the world's leading vendors of Network Attached Storage servers and NVR video surveillance systems, has announced today the expansion of its line of Turbo NAS servers, with the introduction of the new TS-410 desktop NAS server. Aimed at SOHO and Prosumer market segments, the new NAS server from QNAP is designed to store as many as four 3.5-inch hard disk drives, providing the end-user with a choice for storing up to 8TB of digital content, which makes the TS-410 NAS an ideal choice for SOHO users.

“QNAP's new TS-410 is a great addition to a home network; especially where lots of content is being downloaded and needs to be shared easily in mixed networks that might include Macs, PCs, and even game consoles,” said Meiji Chang, CEO of QNAP Systems, Inc. “The TS-410 can easily and affordably handle this and many other tasks including centralized backup so the downloaded content on all the machines in the home network is protected.” Mr. Chang added.

The new NAS features a Marvell 6281 processor that has been clocked at a cool 800MHz, coupled with 256MB of DDR2 RAM and 16MB of Flash memory. The unit can support up to four 3.5-inch hard drives, or even four 2.5-inch SATA HDDs, providing users with a wide range of choices when looking for a new drive to expand the available storage on the NAS. The NAS also comes with 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports, four USB 2.0 ports, 2 eSATA ports, a necessary power button, reset button and a USB one-touch-backup button.

Measuring 177(H) x 180(W) x 235(D) mm and weighing in at 4.6 Kg, the new QNAP NAS comes to provide users with a series of software features, including support for configuring an FTP server, backup, printer, web, My SQL, UpnP media servers and more. Unfortunately, we have no details on the pricing and availability of the new NAS at this time.
