QNAP, a leading vendor of storage solutions for the small office, home office (SOHO) segment, has just announced the expansion of its Turbo NAS family of network attached storage devices, with the introduction of the new TS-210 model. Designed to support up to two 3.5-inch hard disk drives and a maximum of 4TB of storage capacity, the new storage solution has been designed to incorporate a number of features, including support for RAID 1 or iSCSI Target services with Thin Provisioning and a Gigabit LAN port.

“QNAP's new TS-210 is an attractive addition to a home or home office network; especially where lots of content is being downloaded and needs to be shared easily in mixed networks that might include PCs, Macs, and even game consoles,” said Celia Lee, product manager of QNAP Systems, Inc. “The TS-210 also features a new attractive industrial design so it looks great in either a home or an office environment.” Ms. Lee added.

The new QNAP NAS has been featured with a Marvell 6281 800MHz processor, coupled with 256MB of DDR2 RAM and 16MB of flash memory. On the hardware side, the TS-210 also sports one Gigabit port, three USB 2.0 ports and LED indicators for the device's USB, HDD1, HDD2, LAN, Power and Status. On the software side, the new QNAP NAS comes featured with support for a number of functions, including an FTP server, Backup server, web server, multimedia station, iTunes server, My SQL server and more.

Unfortunately, the Taiwanese company hasn't provided any details regarding the NAS' pricing and availability, but has announced that the new TS-210 will be available with the company's new V3 of its NAS management software, which enables a number of new features, compared to previous versions, including virtual disk drive support.
