It would appear that yet another entry-level mobile personal computer will soon be spawned by Gigabyte's labs, one that utilizes a combination of one of, if not the strongest Intel Atom N-series CPU and DDR3 memory.

The past month may have had the press more focused on the video card market, what with all the new NVIDIA and AMD boards, but PC makers have not been idle at all either.

In fact, a solid amount of new systems, particularly laptops, have been revealed, and Gigabyte aims to add to the collection.

Basically, the PC and hardware supplier put together a certain product which goes by the name of Q2005.

Essentially, it is a netbook based on Intel's Pine Trail platform, specifically one that can be said to be among the stronger such laptops known.

The chip at the heart of the configuration is the Atom N550, a dual-core whose clock speed is of 1.5 GHz.

This processor is backed up by either 1 GB or 2 GB of RAM, while a GMA (graphics media accelerator) 3150 integrated graphics handles the video.

Speaking of video, the LED-backlit LCD display of the netbook measures 10.1 inches in length and has a native resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels.

Additionally, Gigabyte put in a hard disk drive, whose capacity can be of 250 GB, 320 GB or even 500 GB, while an 8-in-1 card reader handles reading and writing of memory cards.

Other specifications include a 0.3 megapixel webcam, 10/100 LAN, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and optional Bluetooth 3.0, plus three USB 2.0 ports, two 1.5 Watt speakers and a Kensington lock.

Finally, the machine runs the Windows 7 Starter operating system and is powered by a 3-cell or 6-cell battery. Unfortunately, no information exists on the price tag, but any available technical information can be located here.
