Even though NVIDIA hasn't really said anything official about most of its upcoming 500-series video card line, rumors and reports still come to be, and the latest one claims to hold the arrival time of the supposed GF116 cards.

As end-users well know by now, the GeForce GTX 580, the currently strongest NVIDIA card and first ever 500-series board, has been out for a while.

Essentially a successor and replacement for the GTX 480, is powered by the so-called GF110 graphics processing unit (GPU).

Of course, while this is the flagship product, the line has yet to truly come out in full force, the other models being set to debut over the next several months.

Nothing specific is known for now, except for such facts as that the dual-GPU GTX 595 will make its appearance in time.

It supposedly uses two GF110 processors and its PCB (printed circuit board) was even caught in a photo some time ago.

Now, a new report has arisen which supposedly deals with the GeForce GT 550 and 530, set to arrive after the GTX 570 and 560.

The GeForce GTX 570 will stick to the higher end of the market, as will the 560, to some extent.

The 570 will be based on the same GF110 as the 580, whereas the GTX 560 will employ the GF114, which will succeed the GF104 currently powering the GTX 460.

The GTX 560 is slated to come out in early 2011, probably the first three-month period, while the 570 should come out even sooner, in December 2010 in fact.

The highlights of the new rumor, however, are the GeForce GT 550 and 530, which will be powered by what will likely be GF116 and will show up in Q1 2011, possibly in February.

Said chip should have 240 shaders instead of 192 (like the GF106), though this is still not confirmed. Regardless, the new GPU will deliver more performance for the same price point and should give AMD a run for its money.
