If you're a MMORPG fan then you're surely waiting for Aion: The Tower Of Eternity to be released. Don't worry, NCsoft isn't announcing a launch date, the game is still on for a 2008 release. What we have here is actually a Q & A with the game's Senior Designer, Kyoung Won Choi. The man has revealed a bunch of details regarding the "Tradable wings," casual play in Aion, the rewards for PvPvE, quests for guilds and a new "Hero" system they're trying to implement so even you can become a boss.

OK, most fans will be very happy to finally get a straight answer to what the Tradable wings are. Accordingt to Kyoung Won Choi, "It was most likely a misunderstanding. Wings are not bought in Aion, but changed by other factors such as a rising PvP-rank." Glad we got that out of the way, aren't you? All right, now, the casual-type of players might also want to take part in the action, but MMORPGs aren't really for casual players. Don't worry, as Won Choi himself reveals...:

"We want to have short-term goals in the game, such as quests fitting within shorter timeframes. There will also be appropriate rewards for completing those. Very powerful game items (weapons and armours) will be attainable in different ways, making it easier for casual players to gradually work towards them."

Unfortunately, there won't be any player housing. Well, "not at launch, but definitely as soon as possible." In fact, "it is likely to be in the first expansion," as the designer reckons. Another lacking feature, so to speak is that weather will not be affecting gameplay, since the feature has been dropped. Weather will only affect "some NPCs and monster spawns," according to Won Choi.

Specific quests for guilds are also being considered, as well as a statistics system for players to be able to access online, allowing them to see other players' accomplishments. Once again, these two features haven't been confirmed, but they're seriously considering them as possibilities.

As for the Hero system we've mentioned in the introduction, you'll be very happy to know that even you will be able to become somewhat of a boss, within Aion: The Tower Of Eternity. As Kyoung Won Choi confirms, "[they] are also working on a "Hero" system. Becoming a hero will require a lot of work. Heroes will act as human boss mobs..."

That's summing up Kyoung Won Choi's Q & A on Aion: The Tower Of Eternity, but stay close for updates, since the game launches next year, so there's plenty of time for NCsoft to confirm player housing for example. They might even pick up where they left off in the weather system development.
