When the girls from the Pussycat Dolls put all their solo efforts aside to bring to the fans the 2008 “Doll Domination,” critics eventually said that the girls could only enjoy the success they deserved if they stuck together. It’s precisely this sticking together part that is now ripping PCD apart, with the girls turning on Nicole and sales of their album dwindling, gossip blogger Perez Hilton is reporting.

Perez, who made a name for himself by stirring controversy and occasionally reading too much into certain things, is also known in showbiz as the go-to man for insight into a star’s personal or professional life. It is him that is now claiming to have gotten his hands on some personal e-mails between the PCD girls and the head of their record label, Jimmy Iovine, saying that they clearly indicate that things are actually going from bad to worse for the group.

“We strongly agree that the male dancers are an asset to the show and should be kept for the britney tour.” Kimberly reportedly writes to Iovine, trying to argue that they should keep the male dancers for their opening act during Britney Spears’ Circus tour, which kicks off on March 3. Iovine, in his turn, answers back by pointing out that the girls should be happy with what they got, since it’s not like they can move more items of their album. “We can't afford it. I’m sorry its [sic] hard enough right now with the album not selling that’s why we did jai ho and re releasing the album. And we want to be able to keep the whole thing going at this level its [sic] not a choice its [sic] a reality.” the label man adds.

And that’s not all, in true “when it rains, it pours” fashion. As if financial troubles were not enough to keep even the Pussycat Dolls down, the same blogger also claims to have it from inside sources – very reliable inside sources – that tension within the group is building between the girls and Nicole Scherzinger and is threatening to tear it apart. Granted, this would not be the first time that rumors emerge that the other girls are jealous of the media attention that Nicole is getting, but it would be a first in terms of just how far they go.

While Perez Hilton vouches the e-mails are authentic, Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin maintains that things could be happier in Pussycat Dolls-land. In an e-mail to the same blogger, the founder of the group argues that the money is coming in alright, while the girls are just the best of friends, which means, again, that they will continue making music and touring together as they have so far.

“Just got home from Europe… Was with the Dolls on tour, a SOLD OUT headlining arena tour, so amazing!! Who said the girls r fighting?! NOT TRUE at all!! We all had the best time! That email below is 5min of a 2 day conversation. Its all good in PCD land, I promise u that! We r making decisions because everyone has to meet a budget these days. We have sold 4 million singles and 1m albums worldwide, but we aren’t satisfied yet! Would u be??? My expectations are sooo HIGH, and always have been, that’s why PCD is the biggest POP group/Brand in the world! And hey, we just did the biggest song EVER, ‘Jai Ho’ from Slum Dog Millionaire!” Antin tells Perez.
