14 DAY TRIAL // Motorola DROID RAZR is already available for purchase at Verizon Wireless in black and white colors. However, the handset maker recently decided to go live with an additional flavor for its Android flagship smartphone.
Purple DROID RAZR was unveiled earlier last week at the International Consumer Electronics Show, along with the rumored Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX. The purple version of the DROID RAZR features the same specs sheet as the original RAZR model, including the design and layout.
Although Verizon and Motorola did not disclose the exact release date of the purple Motorola DROID RAZR, it appears that the folks over at Droid-Life managed to put their hands on an internal Verizon document, which confirms that the smartphone is expected to hit shelves on January 23.
The purple flavor of Motorola DROID RAZR will launch to all channels next week, and will be available for purchase for $199.99 (160 EUR) with a new two-year agreement.
According to Motorola, “regardless of color, classic Black, pristine White or Purple, the DROID RAZR is equipped with the same great features that let customers search the Web or download more than 300,000 Android Market apps at breakneck speeds on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network.”
Just like the black and white DROID RAZRs, the purple version runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform, but the smartphone is slated for an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade in Q1 2012.
The back cover is made of KEVLAR fiber, but instead of the black or white colors, this one features a purple scheme.
Under the back hood, the smartphone hides a 1780 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 204 hours of standby time or up to 12 hours of talk time.
Other highlights of the phone include: 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced with 540 x 960 pixels resolution, LTE support, 8-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and 1.2 GHz dual core processor.
