Brought to the public by PureVideo Networks, the operators of StupidVideos.com and GrindTV.com, PureVideo Search is designed as a meta search engine for video. The technology that drives the search engine combines crawl-based search with feed-based search indexing no less than 100 websites.

"We quickly learned that users would devour and create more video content than any one site could categorize or publish," said Greg Morrow, President and Co-founder of PureVideo Networks. "Existing options for discovering video or searching for specific footage are simply not that good. We've taken the best ideas of Web search coupled with the best ideas we've learned as a video publisher, to create this very user-friendly search engine."

PureVideo Search delivers access to over 35 charts with selections of the most popular content on the top rates video websites. Videos are thematically divided according to the following categories: music, sports, comedy, viral videos, entertainment, and news.

"Our strategy has been to leverage the best of two emerging online video business models - video utility and video publishing. Utilities, especially free ones, are powerful traffic aggregators, while published and programmed media destinations retain consumers and generate revenue. By combining the two, we've opened the gateway for traffic while maintaining our ability to offer value to our audience and our big brand advertising partners," explained Erik Hawkins, CEO and Co-founder of PureVideo Networks.
