14 DAY TRIAL // Although in hiding at an undisclosed location for a few days now, Nadya Suleman continues to receive death threats from people all over the US, her former publicist is telling Larry King. The situation has gotten to such a stage that Joann Killeen decided to drop Suleman as a client – and, from what she’s telling the media, she had every right to be terrified.
The reaction to Nadya Suleman’s having octuplets in the context in which she is already mother of six and, furthermore, in which she has no stable income and lives off all sorts of government assistance, has been anything but nice. The media has come to recognize her as “the most vilified woman in America” at the moment because people will not accept that they pay for her almost compulsive desire of having so many babies that she cannot support.
It is precisely this that has prompted people to make contact with Killeen and her firm, Suleman’s former publicist tells Larry King. Nadya has no e-mail account, no Internet and no computer, therefore contacting her is extremely hard and all those who have taken to heart her behavior went to her publicist to vent, to put it mildly. Strangely enough, Killeen says, it’s not only Nadya that is the target of the death threats, but also her own person, for which reason she decided to drop her as a client.
Among the many threats that Killeen received, she mentions to Larry that people wanted to see her “paralyzed” and “killed like a dog,” along with others which are so filled with profanity that, the publicist says, she would never dare repeat them to anyone else. Nadya, on the other hand, “should have her uterus ripped out,” according to those who went the extra mile to threaten her. Speaking of which, Killeen mentions that some of them actually had the Audacity to include a return address on their letter – all of which are now in the hands of the police, who are investigating the claims.
Ever since she appeared on the “Today” show to defend her actions and, more specifically, her decision to have so many babies regardless of her financial situation, Nadya Suleman has been assaulted with criticism from all sides, the public and the media included. She, on the other hand, continues to stick to her story, saying all she ever wanted was children and it was the love for them that made her do all she’s done.
