Psyko Audio Labs has just announced that it has expanded its gaming headset product line with the addition of two new solutions, dubbed the Psyko Carbon and Psyko Krypton, that use the proprietary PsykoWave technology to deliver 5.1-channel surround sound.

According to the company, the Krypton will replace the Psyko 5.1 in its headset lineup, while the Carbon was specially designed to battle it out with other high-end gaming headsets.

However, both solutions use the PsykoWave technology that relies on five audio speakers placed around the headband and on two subwoofers (one in each ear cup) to recreate a more accurate surround sound experience.

Furthermore, the resulting sounds are directed to each ear using waveguides and the technology even adds the correct timing difference and correct front and rear sound flow direction, similarly to what you get 5.1 room speaker system.

Other features include a standalone headset amplifier with adjustable bass and volume control, a detachable boom mic, special side ventilated earcups, and the high-end Carbon also comes with gold-plated connectors and a tangle-free braided cable.

In addition, Psyko states that the Carbon can deliver improved sound quality when compared to its smaller brother as it has an impedance of 120Ohm and its sensitivity is rated at 112db.

“We continue to push the envelope with a true 3D sound experience for today’s advanced gamer,” said James Hildebrandt, founder and chief technology officer.

“We’ve had incredible feedback and industry recognition with our initial Psyko 5.1 product, so given the evolution of the technology and products, we’re looking forward to the success of both Psyko Carbon and Psyko Krypton in the marketplace,” concluded the company's rep.

Both gaming headsets will be available starting April 7 on the company's website, and pricing for the Carbon is set at $149.99 while the Krypton will set you back $199.99.
