Hospital officials have released new information on the victims of a series of explosion at a propane plant in Tavares, near Orlando in Florida.

Jerry Smith, Lake Emergency Medical Services interim executive director, tells the Orlando Sentinel that five people who were wounded in the explosions and subsequent fires are now in serious condition at local hospitals.

As I wrote previously, eight people have been injured in the blasts. Those who suffered the more severe injuries are all employees of the Blue Rhino factory for refurbishing propane cylinders.

However, one more person who is not employed at the plant has been hospitalized with smoke inhalation.

The explosion would have been much larger, had three containers holding a large number of cylinders blown off. 90,000 pounds (40,800 kg) of propane are stored in said bunkers.
